APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

APA Group (APA) Chairman Mr George Bennett announced today the appointment of Mr George Ratilal to the Board of Directors of Australian Pipeline Limited, the responsible entity for Australian Pipeline Trust and APT Investment Trust. Mr Ratilal’s appointment is effective as of 31 July 2007.

Mr Ratilal joins APA as a second representative for Petronas (Petroliam Nasional Berhad), a significant securityholder of APA. Petronas is a fully integrated oil and gas company, wholly owned by the Malaysian government. It owns and controls all the petroleum resources in Malaysia and has subsidiary companies operating in more than 33 countries worldwide.

As the Petronas Vice President of Finance, Mr Ratilal will bring valuable experience to the Board. Mr Ratilal is a member of Petronas’ Management Committee and sits on the Board of several Petronas subsidiaries. Prior to joining Petronas in 2003, he was employed by a local Malaysian merchant bank for 18 years. At the bank Mr Ratilal specialised in corporate finance where he advised on mergers and acquisitions, and the capital markets. He holds an MBA from the University of Aston in Birmingham, UK.
