A.P. Møller - Mærsk A/S – Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller has died

We are sorry to have to inform you that Partner and shipowner Mærsk Mc-Kinney
Møller has passed away on 16 April 2012.

Ane Mærsk Mc-Kinney Uggla says:

“On behalf of the whole family I wish to express our deep sorrow at the loss of
our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller.

My sisters and I have lost a father who never failed neither his family nor his
business.

We are grateful that our father lived a long and eventful life. In his never
failing wish to do good, together with many and great initiatives, he made a
significant mark on our time.

On this day, I am compelled to give thanks to all current and previous
employees of the

A.P. Moller - Maersk Group for the loyalty which has been shown to our father
throughout the years.

Let us respect his memory.”

Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller became partner of Firmaet A.P. Møller in 1940, and from
his father’s death in 1965 he was the executive officer and chairman of the
board of the most significant companies in the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group.
Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller was the Chief Executive Officer until 1993 and remained
the chairman of the board of A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S until 2003.

Until his death, Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller was the chairman of A.P. Møller og
Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Fond til almene Formaal (The Moller
Foundation), A.P. Møller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney Møllers Familiefond (The
Moller Family Foundation) og Den A.P. Møllerske Støttefond, all of which have
considerable shareholdings in A.P. Møller – Mærsk A/S.

Hereafter, Firmaet A.P. Møller includes the following Partners: Nils Smedegaard
Andersen, Claus V. Hemmingsen and Søren Skou.
