Appointment of a new Independent Non-Executive Director

AO World plc is pleased to announce that Shaun McCabe has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of the Company and a member of the Audit Committee with immediate effect.  Chris Hopkinson will step down from the Audit Committee.

Shaun is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Trainline, Europe's largest independent retailer for train tickets.  Prior to Trainline, Shaun held senior positions at a number of consumer-focused online market leaders including International Director at ASOS plc and Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for Amazon Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Geoff Cooper, Chairman of AO, said "We are delighted to welcome Shaun as a Non-Executive Director. We set out to appoint an individual with suitable experience to continue to develop the Board's skill set and Shaun brings with him a strong mix of knowledge of consumer-focused businesses, as well as digital expertise gained from his time in finance, general management and international roles at Amazon and ASOS.  His experience in senior finance roles will be valuable in supporting the work of the Audit Committee."
