SALE OF ELECTRICITY TRANSMISSION LINES

CENTINELA SELLS NON-CORE ASSETS

Yesterday Antofagasta plc's (the "Company") subsidiary Mineral Centinela announced the sale of Centinela Transmisión, the company that holds its electricity transmission lines, for $117 million.

Ivan Arriagada, the CEO of Antofagasta plc, commented: "This sale is consistent with the Group's strategy of disposing of its water and energy assets. This allows us to focus on our core business of producing copper safely and profitably, while also taking advantage of any organic growth opportunities that may arise".
