ADMEDUS APPOINTS NEW CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER
Admedus Limited (ASX:AHZ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kiran Bhirangi, as its Chief Medical Officer.
Dr Bhirangi will be responsible for accelerating the research projects that will generate new product launches in key areas, further emphasising the Company’s strategic focus on growth opportunities. He will also take a leading role in driving the TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement ) and SAVR (Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement) projects as well as other catheter-based projects to expand the ADAPT® portfolio of products.
In addition, Dr Bhirangi will be responsible for coordinating global medical affairs strategies, clinical compliance, global clinical study programs, and developing our clinical publications and scientific presentations strategies.
Dr Bhirangi brings substantial global leadership experience in medical affairs and clinical research in the field of cardiology. As a qualified vascular surgeon Dr Bhirangi will add a wealth of expertise to the Company’s strategy in the years ahead.
He has a deep and thorough knowledge of complex international regulatory and reimbursement environments, having worked across the entire spectrum of device development, launch and evaluation.
His previous roles include: Global Head of Medical and VP Clinical Development and Medical Affairs for Cardiome AG, Head of Medical Affairs Shire Human Genetic Therapies, and Medical Director Johnson and Johnson, OrthoBiotech Products.
He has an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and MS (Master of Surgery) from Bombay University, and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is also widely published and has conducted extensive industry-sponsored research.
