Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

Effective March 14, 2018, Paul J. van der Wansem resigned from Amtech Systems Inc.’s (the “Company”) board of directors. Mr. van der Wansem’s resignation was due to personal reasons, and his decision did not involve any disagreement on any matter relating to the Company’s operations, policies, or practices. The Company had previously announced in January 2018 that Mr. van der Wansem would not stand for re-election at the Company’s 2018 annual meeting of stockholders.
