RESIGNATION OF CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Ampol Limited (ASX:ALD) (Ampol) today announces that Chief Commercial Officer, Louise Warner, has resigned and indicated her intention to take up an executive position with Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (TO: ATD).

Louise will serve a six-month period of gardening leave prior to commencing her new role in North America.

Brent Merrick, currently General Manager, Trading and Shipping, based in Singapore, has been promoted to the role of Executive General Manager – Commercial, based in Sydney, and will join the Ampol Leadership Team. Brent will have responsibility for Trading and Shipping, B2B Sales, Supply and Commercial optimisation across the value chain. He will also assume responsibility for building future energy solutions for customers. Brent’s appointment will take effect immediately.

Brent will work closely with Andrew Brewer, Executive General Manager – Infrastructure. Andrew Brewer will rejoin Ampol in December 2020 from his current role with Refining NZ, with responsibility for operations and optimisation of the Fuels and Infrastructure asset base. At this critical time in our industry, the depth of Andrew’s leadership and downstream capability will be invaluable to ensure Ampol continues to operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

Ampol Managing Director & CEO, Matthew Halliday, said the appointments reflect the depth of executive talent that Ampol has developed and which will ensure Ampol continues to successfully execute its strategy for the benefit of shareholders.

“Brent has almost 20 years’ experience in various roles at Ampol and most recently has been integral to our international growth strategy and the development of the trading and shipping business. Brent has worked across most parts of the Fuels & Infrastructure business, including refining, B2B, supply and trading. Andrew also has a long history with our business, spanning 17 years and his significant global experience will ensure we continue to run our Fuels and Infrastructure business successfully.”

Joanne Taylor, Executive General Manager, Retail, Brand and Culture, will expand her current role and take on responsibility for the management of the Gull New Zealand business and the Ampol rebrand across the organisation.

Matthew Halliday took the opportunity to thank Louise for her significant contribution to Ampol over many years and wished her well in her new role.

Brent Merrick

Executive General Manager, Commercial

Brent Merrick has spent almost 20 years at Ampol and has worked in almost every part of the Fuels & Infrastructure business. Brent started his career as an engineer, scheduler and superintendent at the Lytton refinery before moving to roles in Ampol’s Australian supply chain and then to a trading role in Singapore with Chevron. Brent returned to Business to Business sales where he was responsible for sales and service to key industrial customers. Most recently, Brent returned to Singapore as a trader and then as General Manager of Ampol’s trading and shipping business, based in Singapore, playing a key role in the ongoing development and execution of our international growth strategy. Brent holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland.

Andrew Brewer

Executive General Manager, Infrastructure

Andrew Brewer is an experienced senior executive in the energy and resources sector. Andrew has held multiple leadership roles across large scale complex facilities and integrated supply chains. He has successfully led major change programs safely delivering step change improvements in business performance. This has spanned the minerals processing, resources and energy industries across Australia and in Canada, including as General Manager of the Kurnell refinery and later as Executive General Manager of Supply Chain Operations and Executive General Manager Transformation at Ampol. Andrew currently holds the role of Chief Operating Officer, Refining New Zealand. Andrew has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Adelaide and a Diploma in Management from Deakin University.
