AMP announces Chief Financial Officer appointment

AMP today confirms the appointment of James Georgeson as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective 3 February 2020.

Mr Georgeson was appointed AMP’s Acting CFO in August 2019. He will now formally join AMP’s group leadership team, reporting directly to Chief Executive Francesco De Ferrari. The appointment follows an external and internal search to find a CFO that best aligned with AMP’s requirements.

Mr Georgeson has extensive experience in senior finance roles. Prior to his role as Acting CFO, he was Deputy Chief Financial Officer of AMP. He has also served as the CFO of AMP’s Australian wealth management business and CFO of AMP New Zealand.

James Georgeson biography

Mr Georgeson was appointed Acting CFO in August 2019. He was previously Deputy Chief Financial Officer of AMP since June 2018, with responsibility for AMP’s group performance reporting, strategic planning and forecasting, portfolio and capital management and AMP’s mergers and acquisitions functions.

Since joining AMP in 2001, Mr Georgeson has held senior finance positions across the group including: Chief Financial Officer (AMP wealth management), Director of Group Finance, Chief Financial Officer (AMP New Zealand), Chief Risk Officer and Director of Strategy (AMP New Zealand).

Mr Georgeson holds a Master of Commerce from Macquarie University, Bachelor of Accounting from University of Technology Sydney, and is a Charted Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand.
