March 2010

Welcome to the March edition of the Ambertech Limited investor newsletter. I’m delighted to be updating our shareholders on some of the activities occurring in our business. I encourage shareholders to visit our website (www.ambertech.com.au) to find out more about upcoming events, new products, and news about our business.

Robert Glasson, CFO, Company Secretary

Results for the Half Year Ended 31 December 2009

On 19 February 2010 Ambertech reported NPAT for the December 09 half year of $2.01 million, an increase of 101.6% on the previous corresponding period. Ambertech’s results were in line with expectations provided to the market at the time of the company’s AGM.

Mr Peter Wallace, Chairman of Ambertech, announced an interim dividend of 3.5 cents per share, fully franked. Mr Wallace also advised that Ambertech would look to continue to maintain a full year dividend payout of greater than 50% of earnings to shareholders.

Revenue for the period was $37.9 million, a slight decrease on the same period to 31 December 2008. This decrease can be attributed to the challenging market conditions in Ambertech’s segments that rely more on project based business. Continued revenue growth year on year will continue to depend on timing of these major projects.

Some product areas, however, have shown strong growth during the period. Sales in the company’s lifestyle segment grew 6.4% over the previous corresponding period. This growth will be supported by the addition of the master distribution in Australia and NZ for Altec Lansing, a manufacturer that Ambertech has represented since October 2007.

The relative components of revenue, across the Ambertech business segments can be seen in the charts below:

The result again highlights the diversity of Ambertech’s business and our ability to add new agencies to complement our other brands,’ said Mr Peter Amos, managing director of Ambertech. This diversity will continue to be a major strength of the business,” Mr Amos added.

“The half-year profit result justifies our focus on cost reduction, margin improvement initiatives, and business growth opportunities across each of our business units.” said Mr Amos. “Our ability to maintain market share throughout a difficult period for the business community has been the key to the results this period.”

Outlook

As we approach the last quarter of the financial year, trading conditions, in some cases, remain quite difficult. Ambertech is exposed to a variety of different markets in Australia and New Zealand which have experienced varying trading conditions. Overall, it is difficult to provide specific guidance for the 2010 full year results at this time, especially given the predominant capital nature of our professional and New Zealand segments, and considering the variety of views of economic forecasters.

We continue to maintain confidence in the reputation of our brands and our ability to take these products to market in a number of different business segments. The Board of Ambertech is constantly evaluating potential new agencies or acquisitions that can add long term value to Ambertech shareholders.

Did you know?

Since gaining the master distribution rights for the Altec Lansing brand in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year, Ambertech is now responsible for the processing and disposal of all faulty and unsaleable Altec Lansing product returns. Sales growth and the opening of new sales channels has increased the volume of product moving back to Ambertech along the reverse logistics pipeline.

In order to fulfil the company’s environmental responsibilities, the recycling of the returned product has been investigated and we have now engaged Sunnyfield Independence Enterprises to process and recycle all faulty and unsaleable returned Altec Lansing product.

Under this arrangement, not only is Ambertech achieving its environmental responsibilities under a competitive cost structure, we are fulfilling our corporate social obligations.
