Appointment of Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

AMA Group Limited (ASX: AMA) refers to the announcement on 2 July 2021 that the current Group CFO, Steve Becker will be departing the AMA Group in late August following the release of the FY21 results. A search for a replacement Group CFO is underway.

The Company has secured the appointment of Darren Basford as Interim Group CFO commencing 3 August 2021. Darren will work closely with Steve and the broader finance team to ensure a smooth and orderly transition of the role.

Darren is a skilled professional with over 25 years’ strategic, financial, and operational experience gained in Australia and internationally. He is a former Director of Ernst & Young and has held CFO roles in a range of industries of both listed and large private businesses, most recently as CFO of Food Industry People Group and Acting CFO of MSL Solutions Limited.

Darren holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance from the Governance Institute of Australia. Darren is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Governance Institute of Australia.

Chief Executive Officer, Carl Bizon said “I am pleased to have secured the appointment of Darren while the search for a replacement CFO continues”. He again acknowledged Steve’s contribution to the Group and said, “he will be missed, and we wish him well as he pursues an exciting opportunity in the private sector”.
