Alujains subsidiary NATPET starts operating the Propylene and Polypropylene Complex

Alujain Corporation is pleased to announce to its shareholders and the public as follows:

1.National Petrochemical Industrial Company (NATPET), subsidiary of Alujain Corporation, has started operating the Propylene and Polypropylene Complex in Yanbu Industrial City.

2.Despite some technical problems that were timely tackled the Complex could run at 73% of its capacity. 22,500 tons of high quality polypropylene was produced as per specifications.

3.50% of the produced quantity was sold while the rest is being marketed.

4.Production continues without interruptions and the Complex is expected to reach full capacity towards late May 2009.

5.Operational, administrative and marketing personnel are complete on site and are carrying on their activities normally and satisfactorily.

6.The Complex recorded more than 15,500,000 hours without Lost Time Incidents, including maintenance and operational activities.

7.All these activities represent the pre-commercial operation stage, which will hopefully take the project to the stage of full commercial operation.
