ACTIVITY
Activity for the first quarter 2010 was slightly down (-2.5% Vs 2009).
On a like-for-like basis, activity has decreased by 1.5% (-2% in France, -0.5% international). Alten returned to organic growth this quarter, with the number of engineering consultants and projects under management growing steadily since the end of 2009.
The activity rate for the first quarter also improved: over 92% (against 88% in Q1 2009).
EXTERNAL GROWTH
- Alten has taken a 19% stake in Phoebe Ingenica to reach a significant position on all energy markets, both in consultancy (Alten) and in implementation (Ingénica services).
- Alten has partnered with the Criteres Testing group, which specializes in software for testing, and has set up the ALTEN SIR GTS joint venture. Alten and Criteres Testing will join their expertise and market presence for project management, and will also jointly promote the promising Testing Consultancy business.
2010 OUTLOOK
- Although the company regained a slight growth momentum in 2010, visibility remains uncertain and business fragile.
- By comparison to the first half of 2009, on a like-for-like basis, Alten experts to achieve a slight increase in turnover.
- Alten confirms that it intends to continue its policy of targeted external growth, in France and internationally, to speed up its development.
