Contracts worth over €220 million euros in Turkey

Alstom to supply the power island for Kirikkale combined-cycle power plant

Alstom has been awarded two contracts worth over €220 million1 in total for the supply and the maintenance of the power island of the 950 MW Kirikkale combined-cycle power plant located in the central Anatolia region in Turkey. The plant is expected to be commissioned in May 2017.

Kirikkale Independent Power Project (KIPP) is developed by Acwa Güç Elektrik Işletme ve Yönetim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. ("ACWA Guc"), a subsidiary of ACWA Power and which includes Samsung C&T Corporation as a shareholder. KIPP is a greenfield project located within the municipality of Kiliclar in the Yahsihan District of the province of Kırıkkale, 15 kilometers from Kirikkale City Centre and 50 kilometers east of Ankara. The project will be operating on a merchant basis selling the dependable power capacity and electricity dispatched via bilateral contracts and in the balancing/day-ahead market.

Alstom will supply the main power train equipment components including two GT26 gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), one steam turbine and three turbogenerators to Samsung Construction and Trading (SCT), responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) on a turnkey basis. Alstom will also provide installation and commissioning field advisory services to SCT during the construction phase and ensure long term maintenance services for up to 20 years after commissioning.

References, spanning a wide range of fuels, include the 320 MW Can lignite-fired power plant, the Afsin Elbistan A 1,340 MW coal-fired power plant and the 1,120 MW Hamitabat combined cycle power plants. Alstom supplied key equipment for more than 25% of Turkey's installed power generation capacity, including the Atatürk dam, which is the biggest hydro power plant in the country, and

approximately 50 % of the installed transmission products of TEIAS. Alstom is today a social and economic contributor, with approximately 1,000 employees working for Energy activities in Turkey.
