25 October 2017 – Alstom scores B at CDP's climate change questionnaire. These good results show that Alstom has developed a policy and strategic framework within which to take action and reduce negative climate change impacts. The score is benchmarked against peer companies from the Industrials sector and the Electrical Equipment and Machinery industry.
CDP, formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project, runs the global disclosure system that enables companies, cities, states and regions to measure and manage their environmental impacts. They give grades from A to D. Through offices and partners in 50 countries they have driven unprecedented levels of environmental disclosure.
"Alstom is really proud to have received such a good grade. It was the first time Alstom answered the CDP questionnaire for its current perimeter focused on transport activities. This demonstrates the Group's will to be transparent on its actions. With this score, Alstom is above the average French companies and companies from the same business sector", declared Cécile Texier, Director for Sustainability and CSR1 .
In September, Alstom had been selected in Dow Jones Sustainability indices (DJSI), World and Europe for the seventh consecutive year, which recognises its leading position in the field of sustainability.
As a promoter of sustainable mobility, Alstom develops and markets systems, equipment and services for the transport sector. Alstom offers a complete range of solutions (from high-speed trains to metros, tramways and e-buses), passenger solutions, customised services (maintenance, modernisation), infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility solutions. Alstom is a world leader in integrated transport systems. The company recorded sales of €7.3 billion and booked €10.0 billion of orders in the 2016/17 fiscal year.
