Hod Hasharon, Israel – August 1, 2012 - Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALLT), a leading provider of service optimization and revenue generation solutions for fixed and mobile data networks worldwide, today announced a new Allot Olympics Report tracking broadband traffic volumes and usage patterns during the 2012 Olympics in London.

Traffic statistics were collected from mobile and fixed networks around the globe, starting with the opening ceremony on Friday evening, July 27[th] , and continue throughout the games. Allot began monitoring global traffic weeks before the event to establish a usage baseline.

Results and analysis of broadband usage are posted in an Olympic Online Edition of Allot MobileTrends Report. To mark the event, Allot released a special edition of protocol signatures with unique support for identifying traffic directly related to popular sources of online sports coverage such as ESPN, CNTV (China) and BBC Sports.

Key findings in the Online Report include:

  • Instant Messaging increased 182% on average during the opening ceremony; WhatsApp was out front with a massive 430% increase
