EBIT improves from EUR 1.4 to 1.9 million. Earnings per share up from 9 to 26 euro cents. Strong balance sheet. Well- balanced portfolio of outsourcing and consulting services. Stuttgart, 27 August 2003 AC-Service, an information-technology service provider focused on IT Outsourcing, Human Resource Services and SAP Consulting, closed the first half of 2003 with sales revenues on par with those of last year (EUR 25.1 million). The six-month EBIT of EUR 1.9 million (prior year: EUR 1.4 million) resulted in an EBIT margin of 8% (prior year: 6%) of sales, an after- tax profit of EUR 1.4 million (prior year: EUR 0.5 million) and earnings per share (IFRS) of 26 euro cents (prior year: 9 cents). The second quarter of 2003 contributed to these semi-annual results with quarterly sales of EUR 11.8 million (prior year: EUR 13.0 million), an EBIT of EUR 0.9 million (prior year: EUR 0.8 million) and an after-tax profit of EUR 0.8 million (prior year: EUR 0.1 million) that includes special one-time earnings. All the operating divisions reported positive results. AC-Service enjoys a strong and healthy balance sheet. Cash and cash equivalents totalled EUR 12.5 million as of 30 June 2003 (31 Dec 02: EUR 12.3 million), while the shareholders’ equity of EUR 27.1 million (31 Dec 02: EUR 26.2 million) accounted for 63% (31 Dec 02: 59%) of the balance sheet total of EUR 43.2 million (31 Dec 02: EUR 44.6 million). The company had 322 full-time equivalent employees at the end of the second quarter of 2003 (prior year: 344). The second stock buy-back programme launched on 27 June 2003 had no effect on the reporting period. The focus on high-quality outsourcing and consulting services has proven to be a well-balanced portfolio in this exceptionally challenging market environment.
