TRADING HALT
The securities of Alkane Resources Limited (the “Company”) will be placed in Trading Halt Session State at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in Trading Halt Session State until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Monday 16 June 2014 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Trading Halt Request Alkane Resources Ltd
Alkane Resources Ltd ( ALK ) requests an immediate trading halt with respect to its ordinary shares from the commencement of trading on 12 June 2014.
For the purposes of Listing Rule 17.1, ALK provides the following information:

a) The trading halt is necessary for ALK to make an announcement to the market in relation to the results of a capital raising to be conducted over the course of today and tomorrow by way of a placement to institutional, sophisticated and professional investors, and to allow the bookbuild for that placement to take place.

b) ALK requests that the trading halt remain in place until ALK announces the results of that placement. ALK presently anticipates such an announcement will be made prior to commencement of trading on 16 June 2014.

c) ALK is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
