RESULTS OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS

The Directors of Alkane Resources Ltd wish to advise that all resolutions as per the notice of meeting were passed on a show of hands at the general meeting of shareholders held today.

In accordance with the Corporations Act the following information is provided:

1. Valid proxy votes received in relation to advisory resolution 1 to receive and adopt the remuneration report for the year ended 31 December 2010 were:

   • a) 99,695,310 proxy votes in total;

   • b) 98,444,839 votes in favour of the resolution;

   • c) 461,800 votes against the resolution; d) 661,671 abstentions; and

   • e) 127,000 votes at the discretion of proxy holders.

2. Valid proxy votes received in relation to ordinary resolution 2 to re-elect Mr A D Lethlean as a director were:

   • a) 99,635,310 proxy votes in total;

   • b) 99,066,837 votes in favour of the resolution;

   • c) 199,981 votes against the resolution;

   • d) 241,492 abstentions; and

   • e) 127,000 votes at the discretion of proxy holders.

1. Valid proxy votes received in relation to ordinary resolution 3 to ratify past placement were:

   • a) 85,631,519 proxy votes in total;

   • b) 84,725,514 votes in favour of the resolution;

   • c) 727,394 votes against the resolution;

   • d) 51,611 abstentions; and

   • e) 127,000 votes at the discretion of proxy holders.

Any votes cast on this resolution by any person who may have an interest in the issue or an associate of that person have been disregarded.

1. Valid proxy votes received in relation to special resolution 4 to amend the Constitution were:

   • a) 99,671,831 proxy votes in total;

   • b) 99,351,463 votes in favour of the resolution;

   • c) 170,525 votes against the resolution;

   • d) 22,843 abstentions; and

   • e) 127,000 votes at the discretion of proxy holders.

2. Valid proxy votes received in relation to ordinary resolution 5 to approve a performance rights plan were:

   • a) 97,727,364 proxy votes in total;

   • b) 85,387,273 votes in favour of the resolution;

   • c) 11,156,366 votes against the resolution;

   • d) 1,056,725 abstentions; and

   • e) 127,000 votes at the discretion of proxy holders.

Any votes cast on this resolution by any person who may have an interest in the plan or an associate of that person have been disregarded.
