Alinma Bank announces the interim financial results for the period ended Dec 31, 2008

Alinma Bank announces the interim financial results for the period ended Dec 31, 2008 as follows:

1. Net Income amounted to SAR 390 million.

2. Earnings per share amounted to SAR 0.26

3. Total investment income amounted to SAR 823 million.

4. The total assets amounted to SAR 15,556 million and investments amounted to SAR 14,973 million.

The Net Income includes the Preoperating income amounting to SAR 274 million.

According to the clause 39 of the Articles of Association of the bank, the financial year begins on January 1 and ends on December 31. However, the first financial year starts from the date of the Ministerial Resolution announcing the establishment of the bank until the end of December of the following year. The first financial year of the bank, therefore, covers the period from May 26, 2008 to December 31, 2009. Further, to meet the regulatory requirements, the interim financial statements have been prepared for the period ended December 31, 2008.

The above announcement was made by Mr. Abdulmohsen Al-Fares, CEO of Alinma Bank. He stated that the bank had deployed its funds in secured and low-risk investments with local institutions.
