algoWatt si aggiudica un finanziamento nell'ambito del progetto SIESTA per un caso d'uso sulle Comunità Energetiche

• La Società svolgerà attività di Digital Energy Service Provider e riceverà un contributo di Euro 351mila circa a valere sul progetto "SIESTA - Secure Interactive Environments for SensiTive data Analytics", finanziato dalla Commissione Europea con il Programma Horizon

algoWatt S.p.A., GreenTech Solutions Company quotata sul mercato Euronext Milan di Borsa Italiana, comunica di essersi aggiudicata un finanziamento di circa Euro 351mila per attività di Digital Energy Service Provider sul progetto "SIESTA - Secure Interactive Environments for SensiTive data Analytics", finanziato dalla Commissione Europea nell'ambito del programma Horizon Europe.

Il progetto SIESTA, della durata complessiva di 36 mesi e con finanziamento comunitario di circa Euro 5 milioni, è coordinato dall'Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Spagna). algoWatt è leader del pacchetto di lavoro per un caso d'uso specifico nel settore dell'energia, con particolare attenzione alle comunità energetiche.

L'obiettivo è la creazione di un hub informativo sicuro per le Comunità delle Energie Rinnovabili (CER), in grado di garantire l'accesso, il riutilizzo e la valorizzazione delle informazioni tecniche associate al consumo, alla produzione e all'immagazzinamento dell'energia in modo affidabile, conforme alla privacy, senza soluzione di continuità e persino transfrontaliero.

Il progetto SIESTA ha alla base, infatti, la gestione dei dati sensibili: una sfida sempre presente per le organizzazioni che li generano e li utilizzano. Fornire l'accesso a questi set di dati sensibili per un uso equo e corretto è ancora più impegnativo, soprattutto quando i dati coinvolgono persone e devono essere rispettate le norme sulla protezione dei dati. Al contempo, gli standard dell'Open Science sostengono la pubblicazione di dati aperti come strumento essenziale per costruire una società informata, nonché per consentire il miglioramento di servizi e di soluzioni anche commerciali. Risulta, infatti, fondamentale riutilizzare i dati per massimizzare il ritorno sugli investimenti sia in ulteriori iniziative di ricerca sia in iniziative che coinvolgano proattivamente la società, ma spesso ciò non avviene quando i dati sono di natura sensibile e gli strumenti per accesso, condivisione e riutilizzo risultano inadeguati allo scopo.

In questo contesto, il progetto SIESTA metterà a disposizione delle parti interessate ai dati sensibili una serie di strumenti, servizi e metodologie per consentire un'efficace condivisione dei dati sensibili, in modo che i ricercatori e gli scienziati dei dati possano sfruttare in modo produttivo tali risorse. Seguendo un modello e un approccio basati sul cloud, SIESTA fornirà strumenti di facile utilizzo con l'obiettivo di promuovere l'adozione della condivisione e dell'elaborazione dei dati sensibili nello European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

SIESTA si concentrerà sull'usabilità e sulla riproducibilità, al fine di garantire una bassa barriera d'ingresso per i nuovi utenti e per le parti interessate ai dati, oltre a fornire ai ricercatori un modo per replicare un determinato ambiente di analisi.

algoWatt wins funding within the SIESTA project for a use case on Energy Communities

algoWatt S.p.A., a GreenTech Solutions Company listed on the Euronext Milan market of Borsa Italiana, announces that it has been awarded a loan of approximately Euro 351,000 for Digital Energy Service Provider activities on the "SIESTA - Secure Interactive Environments for SensiTive data Analytics" project, financed by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe programme.

The SIESTA project, with a total duration of 36 months and EU funding of approximately EUR 5 million, is coordinated by the Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC, Spain).

algoWatt is leading the work package for a specific use case in the energy sector, with a focus on energy communities.

The objective is the creation of a secure information hub for Renewable Energy Communities (RECs), capable of ensuring reliable, privacy-compliant, seamless and even cross-border access, re-use and exploitation of technical information associated with energy consumption, production and storage.

At the heart of the SIESTA project is the management of sensitive data: an ever-present challenge for the organisations that generate and use them. Providing access to these sensitive data sets for fair use is even more challenging, especially when the data involve people and data protection regulations must be respected. At the same time, Open Science standards support the publication of open data as an essential tool to build an informed society, as well as to enable the improvement of services and solutions, including commercial ones. Indeed, it is crucial to re-use data to maximise the return on investment both in further research initiatives and in initiatives that proactively engage society, but this is often not the case when data are of a sensitive nature and the tools for access, sharing and re-use are inadequate for the purpose.

In this context, the SIESTA project will provide sensitive data stakeholders with a set of tools, services and methodologies to enable effective sharing of sensitive data, so that researchers and data scientists can productively exploit these resources. Following a cloud-based model and approach, SIESTA will provide userfriendly tools with the aim of promoting the adoption of sensitive data sharing and processing in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

The overall objective of SIESTA is to provide reliable cloud-based environments for managing and sharing sensitive data, built in a reproducible manner, together with a set of services and tools to facilitate secure data sharing through state-of-the-art anonymisation techniques. reproducibility to ensure a low barrier of entry for new users and data stakeholders, as well as provide a way for researchers to replicate a given analysis environment.
