Melbourne, Australia – Alcidion Group Limited (ASX:ALC) is pleased to announce it has expanded the use of its remote patient monitoring platform, Miya Precision, with the Sydney Local Health District to deliver an additional $1.8 million in revenue over the next three years.
As announced on 1 July 2020, Alcidion signed an initial 12 month contract with Sydney Local Health District to deploy Miya Precision to support the virtual care delivery managed by the RPA Virtual Hospital (rpavirtual). The scope of this agreement established the monitoring necessary to manage the care of COVID-19 patients in home isolation.
This expanded implementation will use Miya Precision to enable remote monitoring of patients with Acute Diverticulitis. It will include bi-directional integration with Sydney Local Health District’s Cerner eMR.
This project further consolidates Miya Precision’s role as the district wide Virtual Care Information System (VCIS) platform for Sydney Local Health District. Miya Precision will enable innovative and scalable models of care to be eventually introduced for a broad range of patient cohorts with other chronic conditions both in hospital settings and the community.
Miya Precision provides the rpavirtual clinicians with a clinical monitoring dashboard that consolidates information to support remote patient care. The use of Miya Precision in this virtual care context aims to reduce required hospitalisations, support an increase in the numbers of patients that can be treated and improve recovery outcomes.
In parallel, Alcidion and Sydney Local Health District will work together to deploy the patient app, Miya Care. Miya Care will allow rpavirtual to better engage with patients to actively monitor care progress and improve engagement with the patient. Miya Care will also integrate data from patient monitoring devices and patient wearable technology.
Kate Quirke, Alcidion Managing Director, said: “We are very excited to build on our initial implementation of Miya Precision with Sydney Local Health District through this project that highlights the flexibility and scalability of our platform as a key enabler of new and innovative models of care. We believe Alcidion can play a meaningful role in the development of virtual care across the hospital system in Australia and this partnership with Sydney Local Health District provides a strong validation of that. The opportunity to extend our technology to provide improved information and
