Alchemy Resources Limited (ASX: ALY ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Kevin Cassidy to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Dr Cassidy has been Alchemy’s Exploration Manager since February 2010 and during that time he has led the exploration team responsible for the growth of the Company’s Gascoyne and Murchison gold projects and Alchemy’s recently expanded Bryah Basin Copper project.

Dr Cassidy has over twenty years experience in mineral exploration, project generation and applied research targeting a wide range of mineral deposit types, including gold, copper-gold and base metal deposits. Dr Cassidy is internationally recognised as an expert in gold metallogeny in the Yilgarn of Western Australia and Superior province of Canada. He was previously the principal research scientist with Geoscience Australia and has made major contributions to the understanding of the metallogeny of Archean and Proterozoic terrains.

Dr Cassidy is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Society of Economic Geologists.
