AIXTRON – Weltmarkt- und Techno- logieführer bei MOCVD-Anlagen zur Produktion von Verbindungs-Halbleitern – verzeichnet auch in Q2 ’99 unvermindert kräftiges Wachstum: Umsatz Euro 23,8 Mio., Ergebnis 3,1 Mio. Damit klettern Umsatz im 1. Halbjahr ’99 auf Euro 40,4 Mio. (+46% ggü Vj.) und Konzernjahres- überschuß auf Euro 5,0 Mio. (+56% ggü. Vj.). Die Netto-Umsatzrendite steigt auf 12,4%. Aufgrund der hervorragenden Geschäftsentwicklung und des starken Dollars im ersten Halbjahr erhöht der Vorstand Planzahlen für 1999: Umsatz jetzt bei Euro 74,5 Mio. (+35% ggü. ’98) und Konzernjahresüberschusses bei Euro 9,3 Mio. (+72% ggü. ’98) erwartet. Ergebnis pro Aktie dementsprechend bei Euro 0,62, Netto-Umsatzrendite 12,5% (1998: 9,8%). Den Planzahlen liegt für Q3 und Q4 ein Euro-Kurs von 1,22 Dollar für Umsätze zugrunde, die in US Dollar abgerechnet werden. Märkte für Verbindungs-Halbleiter zeigen weiterhin hohe Nachfrage, weltweit erfolgt rascher Ausbau der Produktions- kapazitäten. Auftragsbestand bei AIXTRON per 30. Juni ’99 bei Euro 42,6 Mio. (+28% ggü. Vj.). Vorbereitung auf das weitere Wachstum bei AIXTRON läuft auf Hochtouren: Offizielle Grundsteinlegung erfolgt, Inbetriebnahme der neuen Fabrik in Q1 2000 vorgesehen. Soeben veröffentlichte endgültige Zahlen von VLSI RESEARCH INC dokumentieren den Ausbau der Markt- und Technologieführerschaft: Marktanteil von AIXTRON stieg in 1998 auf 44,1% (1997: 35%), nächster Wettbewerber aus den USA erreichte lediglich 19,7% (1997: 26%). AIXTRON, the Aachen-based global market and technology leader in MOCVD equipment, the key technology for the production of compound semiconductors, continued its strong growth in Q2 1999, with revenues of EUR 23.8 million and net income of EUR 3.1 million. AIXTRON’s revenues in first half 1999 thus amounted to EUR 40.4 million, an increase of 46% on the previous year. Net income was EUR 5.0 million, a rise of 56%. Return on sales rose to 12.4%. The Executive Board has increased its forecast for total year 1999 due to the excellent business development and the strong dollar in the first six months. Revenues are now seen at EUR 74.5 million – an increase of 35% on the previous year – and net income at EUR 9.3 million, 72% over 1998 results. This corresponds to earnings per share of EUR 0.62. Expected return on sales is 12.5%, compared to 9.8% in 1998. The projected figures for Q3 and Q4 are based on a Euro exchange rate of USD 1.22 for revenues in US dollars. Markets for compound semiconductors continue to show a high level of demand with rapid expansion of production capacity worldwide. AIXTRON’s order backlog as of June 30, 1999 amounted to EUR 42.6 million, an increase of 28% on last year. Preparations for further growth are in full swing; the foundation for the new plant has been officially laid and commissioning is scheduled for Q1 2000. Final figures just published by VLSI RESEARCH INC document how AIXTRON has increased its worldwide market and technology lead. In 1998, the company’s global market share rose to 44.1% (1997: 35%), with its closest competitor from the US merely obtaining 19.7% (1997: 26%).
