Airthings Rolls Out Its Wave Mini in nearly 800 Walmart Stores
The Move Comes Just in Time for Allergy Season to Help Consumers Defend Against Allergies, Asthma, and Mold in Their Homes

Chicago, Illinois (March 17, 2021) – Airthings, makers of the best-selling indoor air quality solutions for consumers, businesses, and professionals, announced today that the markets' first of a kind smart air quality monitor with mold-risk indication, Wave Mini, will be for sale in 789 Walmart stores beginning May 1st as a seasonal offering. Just in time for allergy season, when people are looking for ways to defend against allergies and asthma triggers, Wave Mini provides users with insights into common indoor air pollutants in the home such as mold and airborne chemicals (VOCs), so they can make small changes to optimize their air quality before it's too late.
According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), more than 50 million Americans experience allergies each year. From dust mites to mold spores, pollen, and pet dander, these common allergens in our households can worsen asthma and allergies. Exposure to mold spores can have adverse effects on our health, ranging from common irritations and allergic reactions to more serious issues such as asthma attacks or an increased risk of long-term lung damage. A recent study showed that people are 40% more likely to suffer from asthma when living in a damp and moldy building. Understanding and controlling your indoor air quality helps reduce allergy triggers and lessen their effects.

Small Changes, Big Impact
The best way to protect yourself is by monitoring your indoor air quality. Airthings' Wave Mini, includes sensors for airborne chemicals (VOCs), temperature, humidity as well as a mold risk indicator, which can gauge the likelihood of mold growth—before you even see it. When you know what's in the air, small changes in your daily habits make a big difference to the health of your family.
"We're all spending more time indoors, and with allergy season already underway, Wave Mini is a powerful tool for anyone who wants to protect their health from the negative effects of indoor air pollutants," said Oyvind Birkenes, CEO of Airthings. "Together with Walmart, the world's largest retailer, we can help even more people take control of their air quality, empowering them to breathe better."
Wave Mini will be available in Walmart stores starting May 1st at a retail price of \$79.99 as a seasonal offering. To learn more about Wave Mini and indoor air quality visit Airthings at airthings.com.
