APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
AIB Group plc and Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (together, the "Group") are very pleased to announce the appointment of Donal Galvin, the Group's Chief Financial Officer ("CFO"), as an Executive Director. He will join the Board with immediate effect.
Donal joined AIB Group as Group Treasurer in September 2013 and was appointed to the role of CFO in March 2019. Donal has gained significant experience working in domestic and international financial markets over the last 25 years. Prior to joining AIB, Donal held a number of senior executive roles including Managing Director in Mizuho Securities Asia, Managing Director of Dutch Rabobank, and Treasurer of Rabobank International.
Commenting on the appointment, Colin Hunt, Group Chief Executive Officer, said:
"This appointment recognises the significant impact which Donal has made since his appointment as Chief Financial Officer in the optimisation of our capital structure, the embedding of cost discipline and generally in his leadership and engagement with our stakeholders. He is an outstanding colleague and will make a very valuable contribution to the Board and the Group."
The announcement is made in accordance with Rule 6.1.64 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules and Rule 9.6.11 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.
The Group confirms that there are no other matters requiring disclosure under Rule 6.1.66 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules/Rule 9.6.13 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules relating to Donal Galvin.
