DIRECTORATE CHANGES

AIB Group plc (the "Company") announces that Mr Tomás O'Midheach, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy CEO, has been appointed to the Board as Executive Director with effect from 13 March 2019.

Richard Pym, Chairman of the Company, said: "I am delighted to welcome Tomás to the Board as an Executive Director following his appointment as Deputy CEO in October 2018. Tomás' role as Chief Operating Officer and his substantial experience and knowledge of AIB Group will complement and enhance the skills of our Board."

Colin Hunt, CEO said: "I am pleased that Tomás will join the Board as an Executive Director and I have no doubt that he will make a valuable contribution. I look forward to working more closely with Tomás over the years ahead."

Tomás was appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer in February 2016 and designated Deputy CEO in October 2018. He has over 22 years' experience in the financial services industry, with his banking experience spanning many diverse areas of banking including Finance, Data, Customer Analytics, Direct Channels and Digital.  Tomás spent 11 years with Citibank in the UK, Spain & Dublin where he held several senior positions in Finance.  He joined AIB in June 2006 to head up a finance operating model transformation and has since held a number of senior executive positions including Head of Direct Channels & Analytics and Chief Digital Officer.

The announcement is made in accordance with Rule 6.6.5 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules and Rule 9.6.11 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.

The Company confirms that there are no matters requiring disclosure under Rule 6.6.7 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules/Rule 9.6.13 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules relating to the aforementioned individual.
