AGRANA Preliminary results for the 2001/02 financial year Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The 2001/02 financial year ended on 28 February 2002 with the following results: 2001/02 2000/01 +/(-) EUR mn EUR mn EUR mn % Revenues 842.8 760.2 82.6 10.9% Operating profit (EBIT) 76.0 66.7 9.3 13.9% Profit before tax 64.1 51.2 12.9 25.2% Consolidated profit for the year 44.3 37.6 6.7 17.8% Seventy per cent of the increase in revenues, which advanced by EUR 82.6 million, was accounted for by the Austrian members of the Group and above all by the Sugar Division (6.7 percent growth), the Starch Division (12.7 percent growth) and from our activities in third-party products. Further restructuring, rationalization and cost optimization at every Group-member made an important contribution to the very satisfactory development of AGRANA’s profits.
