ÅF-Inspection establishes company in Lithuania

ÅF has, via its Inspection Division (ÅF-Kontroll), established a new, wholly owned subsidiary in Lithuania (UAB AF Inspection LT).

Initially operations will concentrate on testing and inspection services for the nuclear power industry. The new company is starting business with a staff of 30 qualified test and inspection engineers, all of whom have been transferred to ÅF as part of an agreement with the state-owned Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP).

The ÅF Inspection Division has acquired test equipment from INPP following a public auction. At the same time, the new company is assured of a significant amount of business thanks to a running service contract that has been signed with INPP and that relates to the supply of inspection and testing services for the plant.

Building on this new Lithuanian company as our base will give us a unique position and the opportunity to offer advanced testing services to more nuclear power nations in the region. ÅF-Kontroll will soon also be able to offer inspection services to other sectors in Lithuania, as it expands its portfolio of services in the country to include a number of related functions.
