Aéroports de Paris January 2013 traffic figures

In January 2013, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic decreased by 3.0% compared to January 2012, with a total of 6.2 million passengers handled including 4.3 million at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (-3.0%) and 1.9 million at Paris-Orly (-3.2%).

Traffic was affected by heavy snowfalls over France and Northern Europe between 18 and 20 January. Without these three days of snowfalls, passengers volumes would have decreased by 2.3% in January.

  • International traffic (excluding Europe) increased slightly by 0.2%. Asia-Pacific was the most dynamic area (+4.8%) followed by Africa (+2.7%) and the French Overseas Territories (+2.4%). The Middle East showed a slight increase (+0.5%). Two destinations recorded a sharp decline: North America (-4.8%) and Latin America (-6.4%).
  • European traffic (excluding France) was down by 4.1%.
  • Traffic within France fell by 8.2%, impacted by the traffic restrictions measures taken to face bad weather.
  • The number of connecting passengers decreased (-5.4%). The connecting rate stood at 27.8%, down by 0.5 point.

Traffic from TAV Airports (owned at 38% by Aéroports de Paris) increased by 23.1% in January 2013.
