Aéroports de Paris March 2011 traffic figures

Passenger traffic

In March 2011, Aéroports de Paris passenger traffic increased by 0.8% compared to March 2010, with a total of 6.8 million passengers handled including 4.7 million at Paris-Charles de Gaulle (+0.1%) and 2.1 million at Paris-Orly (+2.3%).

  • International traffic (excluding Europe), affected by geo-political unrest in some parts of Africa and the Middle East, decrease by 3.4%. On Africa and Middle-Eastern routes, traffic fell respectively by 8.1% and 19.6%. All other destinations improved: French Overseas Departments and Territories +4.2%; Asia/Pacific +3.4%; North America +2.4% and South America +1.0%.
  • European traffic (excluding France) was up by 4.0%, driven by Schengen countries (+4.2%). Great Britain and Ireland decreased by 1.6%.
  • Traffic within France increased by 2.9%.
  • The number of connecting passengers rose by 1.1%. The connecting passenger rate amounts to 25,0% against 25.2% in March 2010.

Over the first quarter of 2011, passenger traffic increased by 3.9% year-on-year. The number of connecting passengers grew by 3.3% coming in at 25,0% against 25.1% over the first quarter of 2010.

Aircraft movements

The number of aircraft movements increased by 1.4% in March 2011 year-on-year (with +0.7% at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and +2.9% at Paris-Orly). Since the start of the year, the number of aircraft movements has risen by 3.9%.
