BOLOGNA AIRPORT, ALMOST ONE MILLION PASSENGERS IN JUNE Established the new monthly traffic record in the history of Marconi

With 982,300 passengers (+11.0% on June 2022), in June 2023 Marconi Airport recorded the best month ever in the history of the airport, exceeding the previous record figure by around 26,000 units, set in August 2022. In the first six months of 2023, there were a total of 4,579,777 passengers, up 24.7% on 2022.

The "dark period" of Covid has been archived too, with a growth of 13.7% in June 2023 over June 2019 and with a +3.1% in the progressive figure for the first half of 2023 over the same period of 2019. The number of flights of the first six months of the year is still 2.6% lower than in 2019.

In detail, in June there were 251,849 passengers on domestic flights (+42.1% on the same month of 2019 and +11.7% on June 2022), while passengers on international flights were 730,451, up by 6.3% on 2019 and 10.8% on 2022.

Aircraft movements in June were 7,023, up by 7.6% on 2019 and 9.2% on 2022. Freight also grew, equal to 3,472 tons: +13.2 on 2019 and +5.7% on 2022.

The most flown destinations in June were: Catania, Barcelona, Palermo, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Brindisi, Frankfurt, Tirana, London Heathrow, Istanbul and Cagliari.

In the first half of 2023, Marconi Airport recorded 34,352 total movements (-2.6% on 2019 and +15.6% on 2022), while freight amounted to 20,874 tonnes (+7.3% on 2019 and +1.8% on 2022).

Aeroporto Guglielmo Marconi di Bologna, classified as a "strategic airport" in the centre-north area of the National Airports Plan prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, recorded in 2022 8.5 million passengers, ranking as the seventh biggest Italian airport by number of passengers (Source: Assaeroporti – Aeroporti2030).
