999,486 passengers: September narrowly misses the round figure of one million, but still represents a record month for Bologna Airport, the third busiest in the history of the airport. The monthly figure marks an increase of 11.8% on September 2019 (pre-Covid) and of 9.8% on September 2022.
In detail, passengers on domestic flights are especially growing (252,082, +43.4% on September 2019 and +11.2% on August 2022), but passengers on international flights are also performing positively (747,404, +4.1 on 2019 and +9.4% on 2022).
Movements also grew, reaching 7,091 (+5.8% on the same month of 2019 and +6.3% on 2022), while freight were 3,394 tons (+14.1% on 2019 and -21.0% on 2022).
The favorite destinations in September were: Catania, Barcelona, Palermo, Tirana, Brindisi, Madrid, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Paris De Gaulle and Cagliari.
In the first nine months of 2023, total passengers were 7,708,990, with an increase of 7.5% on the same period of 2019 and of 18.8% on the same period of 2022.
The number of movements in the January-September period was 56,356 flights in total, up 5.8% compared to 2019 and 6.3% compared to 2022.
Freight transported by air in the first nine months of the year amounted to 30,479 tons: +7.6% on 2019 and -2.8% on 2022.
