BOLOGNA AIRPORT, EXCEEDING 1 MILLION PASSENGERS IN JULY It is the highest result ever in the history of Marconi

1,069,874: in July, for the first time in its history, Bologna Airport exceeded the threshold of one million passengers in a month. The new record, which improves by almost 90 thousand units on the previous record of June 2023, represents a growth of 16.6% on July 2019 (pre-Covid) and 12.5% on July 2022.

This important result was achieved above all thanks to passengers on international flights (799,040) who represent 75% of the total Marconi passengers and who grew by 9.2% on July 2019 and by 13.7% on July 2022.

The numbers of passengers on domestic flights are also very positive (270,834), up by 45.5% on July 2019 and by 9.2% on July 2022.

Movements also grew, but to a lesser extent, reaching 7,466 (+8.7% on the same month of 2019 and +9.9% on 2022), while freight were 3,385 tons (-9.8% on July 2019 and +1.8% on July 2022).

The most popular destinations in July are almost all typically summer and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea: Catania, Barcelona and Palermo in the first three places, followed by Trapani, Brindisi, Tirana, Frankfurt, Olbia, Cagliari and Madrid.

In the first seven months of 2023, there were a total of 5,649,651 passengers, up by 5.4% on the same period in 2019 and by 22.2% on the same period in 2022.

The number of flights in the January-July period, 41,818, is still 0.8% lower than in 2019, while movements are up by 14.5% on 2022.

Freight also grew in the first seven months of the year, equal to 24,259 tons: +4.6 on 2019 and +1.8% on 2022.
