MARCONI AIRPORT, 575 THOUSAND PASSENGERS IN NOVEMBER Slight growth on 2021 (+8.0%), but significant reduction (-19.3%) compared to pre-Covid 2019.

After a summer of constant growth in passengers, in November, with the start of the winter flights season, Marconi recorded 575,000 passengers (exactly: 575,585), which mark a slight increase over the same month of 2021 (+8.0%), but represent a reduction of 19.3% compared to the 2019 pre-pandemic levels.

In detail, the brakes are above all passengers on domestic flights, which in November 2022 reached 131,226 (-21.5% on 2021 and -12.0% on 2019). The performance of passengers on international flights was diversified, at 444,359, with strong growth over 2021 (+21.4%) and decrease over 2019 (-21.2%).

Aircraft movements of the month were 4,498, almost unchanged on 2021 (-0.2%), but in strong decrease on 2019 (-19.0%). On the other hand, there was no decrease in cargo, which amounted to 3,887 tons, up by 2.8% on 2021 and by 18.6% on 2019.

The favorite destinations in November 2022 were: Catania, Barcelona, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Madrid, Tirana, Palermo, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Istanbul and Bucharest. Compared to the previous months, there is a progressive return of international and business destinations, compared to the predominantly national and leisure ones that characterized the past months.

In the period January-November 2022, 7,907,316 passengers were registered (-9.0% on 2019 and +118.0% on 2021).

In the first eleven months of 2022, total movements were 60,860, 9.5% lower than in 2019 and up 81.4% on 2021, while freight amounted to 39,482 tons (+12.9% on 2019 and +11.8% on 2021).

The company's aim is to make Bologna Airport one of the most modern and functional in Italy, an important gateway to the city and region.
