On October 23, 2008, Robert J. Rivet, 54, was named Chief Operations and Administrative Officer of Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (the “ Company ”), effective immediately. Mr. Rivet will continue in his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until a successor is named by the Company. Mr. Rivet first joined the Company in 2000 as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

A copy of the press release announcing this change in the Company is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
