ZAMIL INDUSTRIAL INVESTMENT COMPANY POSTS SR 7.4 MILLION NET PROFIT BEFORE ZAKAT FOR Q1 2003 AN INCREASE OF 13.6 PERCENT

The managing director of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC), Mr. Adib A. Al-Zamil, announced that the company during the first quarter of 2003 has achieved net profits before Zakat of SR 7.4 million (approx. USD 2 million) an increase of 13.6 percent compared to the same quarter of 2002 net profits of SR 6.5 million. Total turnover for ZIIC?s three sectors, namely: air conditioners, steel and glass have posted SR 304 million compared to SR 293 million an increase of almost 4 percent. Earnings per share rose from SR 1.08 in 2002 to SR 1.23 at the end of the first quarter in 2003. In addition, the shareholders equity also reported an increase by 0.5 percent at SR 393.9 million (USD 105 million) compared to SR 391.8 million (USD 104.5) in 2002.
