CHANGES TO ANSEARCH BOARD

Director Appointment

The Board of Ansearch Limited (ASX: ANH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Adrian Vanzyl as Non-executive Director effective today.

Dr. Vanzyl has many years of experience as an international technology executive, working across the software, security, new media and venture investment sectors. With talents as both a deep technologist and a business development problem solver, Adrian has built organisations from the ground up as well as expanded operations into international markets.

Adrian is currently a Principal and Head of the Digital Media Practice at the investment bank Gramercy Venture Advisors. Here he focuses on New Media deals involving cross border transactions, particularly between Australia, USA and South East Asia. He is primarily based out of the company’s Melbourne and San Francisco offices.

Prior to joining Gramercy, he was VP of Business Development for Eurekster in San Francisco, the leading provider of vertical, community and social network based search. He was responsible for the majority of the company’s revenue and monetisation partnership deals during his tenure.

Before joining Eurekster he was Entrepreneur in Residence and CTO at Blumberg Capital in San Francisco for three years, evaluating several hundred deals. Whilst at Blumberg he ran two of their portfolio companies. As CEO of Seclarity, a security hardware and software firm, he successfully raised funding from Intel Capital, Valley Ventures and Blumberg Capital. He was also acting CEO of Transtech Networks, a gigabit security switch manufacturer providing layer seven packet inspection.

Prior to Transtech he was President and CEO of SomethingNow, an e-commerce company focused on online ‘point of sale’ marketing and promotions, based in San Francisco. SomethingNow sold to CNet’s Channel Online group, and CNET was a major participant in the $22M the company raised during his tenure.

Adrian was Group Business Development Manager for Microsoft’s bCentral small business portal. His group managed business development and partnerships for the portal, both domestically and internationally (where he helped launch in 22 countries in two years). He joined Microsoft as a result of his role as VP International at LinkExchange (the largest reach online ad network at the time), which Microsoft acquired and subsequently grew into bCentral.

Adrian worked for two years as CTO of LookSmart, where he was responsible for managing the core search engine technology as well as building the company’s US-based team of engineers from the ground up.

Before moving to the US, he worked as CTO at Sausage Software, Australia's first listed Internet software company. He managed the engineering team of over 50 staff, key partnerships, and was a member of the three person board of directors that successfully took the company public on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Adrian has an MD degree (MB BS degrees with Honours) from Monash University Australia, and spent the first three years of his career post his medical internship as a researcher and lecturer in Medical Informatics at the University. His focus was on information retrieval systems.

Dr. Vanzyl commented “I am excited by the opportunity to be part of such a dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation. Key to my decision to join the Board of Ansearch is the passion and commitment to the success of Ansearch expressed by my fellow Directors. I see Ansearch as a great vehicle for creating shareholder returns through a vast number of opportunities that continue to be identified in Australia, the United States and the Asia Pacific region. I am glad to be afforded an opportunity to play a role in the ongoing success of this rapidly growing company.”

Chairman Andrew Barlow said “I am delighted that Adrian Vanzyl has agreed to join Ansearch. My fellow Directors and I have been particularly impressed with Adrian’s mix of technological and general business expertise, as well as his in depth understanding of both the digital media and capital investment industries. Adrian’s leadership and management credentials in the online technology space are most impressive, and his experience in the United States and Asia will be key to Ansearch’s global expansion aspirations.”

Director’s Resignation

Following the appointment of Dr. Vanzyl, Charles Ellison has tendered his resignation from the Board of Ansearch Limited, effective today.

Mr. Ellison commented “I feel privileged to have been part of the team that has seen the transition of the Company into a leading global online media business. The Company has come through a period of instability and is now suitably structured and poised to capitalise on the growing online media market both in Australia and further afield. I am very pleased with the calibre of the Directors that have been appointed to the Board of Ansearch over recent months, and I feel it is appropriate to step down now and allow the new team to take the business forward.”

Mr Barlow went on to say “I wish to thank Charles Ellison for his contribution to the company over recent years and for seeing the company through some months of volatility. Charles’ business acumen has been of great benefit to the Company over the past years and I wish Charles continued success.”
