THE UNION Health Ministry on Wednesday said extensive studiesbyseveralagencieshave“conclusivelyestablishednolinkages” between Covid-19 vaccines and suddendeaths.Itcameadayafter Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah linked a "series of deaths”duetoheartattacksinthe state’sHassandistrictto“hastyapproval and distribution” of Covid vaccines. Citing studies conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR)andtheNational Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Ministry said: "The matter of sudden unexplained deaths has been investigated through several agencies in the country.Thesestudieshaveconclusivelyestablishedthatthereis no direct link between Covid 19 vaccination and the reports of suddendeathsinthecountry.” TheMinistryalsosaidpreliminaryfindingsofastudycurrently beingconductedbyAIIMS,Delhi indicate that “heart attacks continue to be the leading cause of sudden death” among young adults. “In majority of the unexplaineddeathcases,geneticmutations have been identified as a possible cause of these deaths,” thestatementsaid.
