John V McCarthy AO to be appointed to the Board of LandMark White Limited

LandMark White Limited (ASX: LMW) today announced its intention to appoint Mr John McCarthy AO to the Board as a Non-executive Director effective from 29 October 2014.

With more than 35 years in the property sector Mr John McCarthy brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge and experience, adding new depth and breadth of property expertise to LMW’s Board.

Mr McCarthy has had a very distinguished career in which he was recognised in 2009 with the Order of Australia for his services to the property and construction industry. His career is noted for its significant breadth of roles across various commercial and property disciplines and industry boards.

Mr McCarthy has served as the inaugural Chair of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council and was in 2010 appointed Chair of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction.

Mr McCarthy is a former CEO of ANZ Property Investment and Advisory Services and Colonial Mutual Properties. He is the former Managing Director of Tasman Properties and the former National President of the Property Council of Australia.

LMW Chairman, Stuart Gregory welcomed Mr McCarthy’s appointment as part of the LMW’s focus on its leadership in the provision of integrated property valuation services.

John is well known for his leadership within the industry and the Board is delighted to be welcoming someone of John’s calibre to the Board.

Mr Stuart Gregory has advised of his intention to retire at the AGM on 25 November 2014. John’s appointment is with a view to replacement of Stuart in the role of Independent Chairman and further signals LMW’s focus on creating sustainable shareholder value.” Stuart Gregory has served on the Board of LandMark White since the float 11 years ago and has provided a significant contribution to the Boar and the success of the company.
