APPROVAL FOR THE QUALIFIED FOREIGN INVESTOR (QFI) LICENCE 

The Board of abrdn China Investment Company Limited (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has received regulatory approval for a Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) licence. The QFI licence is effective immediately.  The QFI scheme provides the Company with access to a broader investible universe within Chinese equities, including access to stocks listed on the STAR market, and at the same time grants the Company with more flexibility to trade onshore equities approaching Foreign Ownership Limits under the Stock Connect programme. The Portfolio Manager expects the funding drawn down on 15 December 2022 will be used to gain exposure to these markets and will continue to apply the existing long-term quality investment philosophy in the QFI allocation.
