Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Aberdeen Equity Income Trust plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Alice Ryder as an independent Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Ms Ryder will also join the Company's Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration and Management Engagement Committee.

With extensive experience in the investment industry, Ms Ryder is currently a partner of Stanhope Capital LLP and Head of Stanhope Consulting. Previously she was a fund manager at Framlington Investment Management Limited, having started her career at Henderson Administration.

Ms Ryder is also Non-Executive Director of the JP Morgan Small Cap Growth and Income Trust plc and is a member of the Investment Committee for the Royal Academy Trust. Ms Ryder was previously the Non-Executive Chair of BlackRock American Income Trust plc until she retired from the Board on 16 April 2025.

There are no additional disclosures required to be in accordance with UKLR 6.4.8
