Appointment of Senior Independent Director

Inchcape plc ("Inchcape" or the "Group"), the leading independent multi-brand automotive distributor and retailer with global scale, announces that Jerry Buhlmann will become Senior Independent Director following the AGM on 23 May 2019.

Jerry Buhlmann will succeed Nigel Northridge who will retire from the Board.  Nigel has been with the Group since 2009 and has been the Senior Independent Director since May 2015.

Nigel Stein, Chairman, said:

"On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Nigel for his long service and great contribution to Inchcape over the years.  We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Jerry Buhlmann as Senior Independent Director following the AGM in May 2019".  

Jerry served as the CEO of Aegis Group PLC, a FTSE 100 company, and remained the CEO after its acquisition by Dentsu in 2013.  Jerry brings a broad range of experience as a former CEO and board member of an international company. He stepped down as CEO of Dentsu Aegis at the end of last year.

Director Change

Inchcape plc further announces that Coline McConville, non-executive director will retire from the Board on 31 July 2019.  Coline has been a member of the Board since 2014 and the Chair of the Remuneration Committee since January 2016 during which time she successfully led the 2017 Remuneration Policy review. 

Nigel Stein, Chairman of Inchcape, said "I would like to thank Coline for her support and the sound remuneration advice provided to Inchcape over the last 5 years and I wish her every success for the future".

Coline will be succeeded as Chair of the Remuneration Committee by Jane Kingston who was appointed in July 2018.

In relation to the above changes to the Board, no further information is required to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.11R.
