Eiffage has entered into exclusive negotiation with a view to acquire Saipem maritime works activities.
The activity realised close to 100 millions of euros of turnover in 2016 mainly in Kuwait, Congo and Panama and has an order book that is being produced.
Eiffage is already present in the activities of maritime works in France and Belgium and such acquisition would strengthen its international capabilities with the integration of 110 Saipem employees covered by this operation.
This operation would constitute a new step in Eiffage international redeployment on specialist activities. It would also permit to realise synergies on major and complex projects.
This transaction is subject to the customary legal, regulatory and financial approvals and is being reviewed by the mandatory social bodies. It should be finalised by the end of 2017.
Eiffage is a one of Europe's leading construction and concessions companies. The Group's activities are organised on the basis of the following business lines: construction, real estate, regional development, civil engineering, metal, roads, energy and concessions. Thanks to the experience of more than 63,000 employees, Eiffage generated revenues of €14 billion in 2016, including nearly 20% outside France.
