Directorate appointment

The Rank Group Plc ("Rank" or the "Company") announces the appointment of Mr. Tang Hong Cheong as a non-executive director with immediate effect. 

Ian Burke, Rank's chairman, said "I am pleased to welcome Hong Cheong to the Rank board.  Hong Cheong has been working with the management of Rank since 2010 and has a broad understanding of the operational, financial and business aspects of the Company.  With Hong Cheong joining the board, he will be able to further enhance the communication between Rank and its major shareholder and, with his extensive commercial experience, be able to bring valuable contributions to the Rank board."

Biography of Mr. Tang Hong Cheong

Mr. Tang, aged 64, has been a Director and the President & CEO of Guoco Group Limited since 2016.  He is also the Group Managing Director of GL Limited and a Director of GuocoLand Limited, both listed in Singapore Stock Exchange and Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited which is listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Mr. Tang has been with the Hong Leong Group for more than 40 years.  He had held various senior management positions in different companies and directorships in the listed companies within the Hong Leong Group with the latest role as the President/Finance Director of HL Management Co Sdn Bhd, the overall management and strategic planning entity of the Hong Leong Group, prior to assuming the present position in Guoco.

Mr. Tang is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and has over 40 years of broad-based and C-suite expertise in finance, treasury, risk management, operations and strategic planning. He possesses in-depth knowledge in investment, manufacturing, financial services, property development, gaming and hospitality industry.
