ALTEO brings warmth again to the homes of people in need – Christmas funds given to two NGOs
Budapest, December 8, 2025 – ALTEO continues its Christmas corporate social responsibility program this year to ensure that communities where heating and paying energy bills are among the biggest financial challenges can stay safe and warm during the winter months. Two NGOs, the Világítani Fogok Egyesület (Illuminating Lives Association) and the Egyenlő Esélyekért Alapítvány (Equal Opportunities Foundation), received a total of HUF 5 million in donation as part of the Company's 2025 energy poverty alleviation program.
The Egyenlő Esélyekért Alapítvány received a funding of HUF 3 million, which will enable them to begin modernizing their outdated heating system. With the help of these funds they can buy energy-efficient boilers and finance the related renovation of the chimney system. For more than two decades, the Foundation has been offering residential care and development services to people in vulnerable situations; a safe and reliable heating system is essential for their daily work.
The Világítani Fogok Egyesület has received a funding of HUF 2 million to purchase environmentally-friendly briquettes, which is expected to cover the needs of 40-50 households in need during the winter months. The association helps people living in small villages where heating in winter is the biggest financial burden. The program directly reduces costs for families, improves their living conditions and reduces the risk of hypothermia.
"Raising awareness to economical energy use and supporting communities are closely linked in our program, as both are aimed at ensuring adequate conditions for families and communities in need during the winter months. Energy efficiency modernization can help reduce heating costs in the long term, while direct funds for heating can provide immediate relief where an instant solution is needed. Winter energy poverty is a grave problem affecting many households, and so it is important for us to provide genuine help to those who are in the most difficult situation," said Beatrix Szabó, ALTEO's Director of Sustainability and HSE.
As in previous years, the application process was carried out with the assistance of Civil Impact Nonprofit Kft.
