Lysaker, Norway – Wavetrain Systems AS, subsidiary of Nordic Technology Group AS (NTG), is pleased to announce the sale of its advanced acoustic-based Level Crossing Warning System with a significant railway operator in an EU country. The system is to be used in a formal type-approval process, based on Network Rail approval, in preparation for sales and roll-out. This represents a strategic milestone for Wavetrain as we expand into new European markets.
Entering an EU market is a critical step toward broader adoption of Wavetrain's technology across Europe. The country has a significant number of unprotected level crossings, all of which could benefit from Wavetrain's solution. The scale of this opportunity underscores substantial market potential. Successful implementation here could accelerate adoption in other European countries, creating a ripple effect that enhances safety and efficiency across the continent.
This trial leverages Wavetrain's latest AI and Machine Learning enhancements, which were recently validated through rigorous testing and updated CENELEC SIL2 certification. Our AI-driven algorithms deliver superior detection performance, enabling faster installation and reduced lifecycle costs. These improvements build on the progress achieved with Network Rail in the UK, where our system demonstrated exceptional reliability during final approval trials.
CEO of Wavetrain, Pål E. Bratlie, said:
"Europe faces an urgent need to modernize level crossing safety infrastructure. With thousands of passive crossings still in operation, the potential for Wavetrain's solution is significant. A successful outcome in this EU country will not only strengthen our position in the region but also support cross-acceptance in other markets, paving the way for widespread deployment."
Wavetrain Systems AS, part of Nordic Technology Group AS (NTG), delivers patented, AI-powered acoustic detection technology designed to enhance safety at level crossings. Our solutions are certified to CENELEC SIL2 standards and have been tested extensively to meet stringent railway requirements. Our aim is to safely reduce risk at level crossings in an affordable and efficient way.
