Imerys, the world leader in mineral specialties for industry, signed a collaboration, research and expertise agreement on May 28th with the UMS 2006 Patrimoine Naturel, a natural heritage umbrella bringing together the National Museum of Natural History, the French Agency for Biodiversity and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS).
This partnership for biodiversity knowledge and conservation is part of Imerys' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach. Within the context of this partnership, the UMS teams will assist the company in designing, monitoring and analysing its biodiversity continuous progress cycle in France and abroad.
Structured according to the main quidelines of the National Biodiversity Strategy (a French commitment under the Convention on Biological Diversity), this project will be based on four main levers:
Furthermore, in addition to this approach Imerys has committed to the act4nature initiative that has been launched by Entreprises pour l'Environnement (EpE) and other partners with the aim of mobilizing businesses to protect biodiversity.

UMS 2006 Patrimoine Naturel brings together the French National Museum of Natural History, the French Agency for Biodiversity and the CNRS. These institutions have recognized scientific and technical expertise in the field of French biodiversity in favor of knowledge and conservation policies. This entity is responsible in particular for the knowledge and expertise of the French national natural heritage as well as biodiversity knowledge, its transfer, and the training of the players of its conservation.
