Imerys further expands in calcium carbonates in Brazil

Imerys has completed the acquisition of some assets of the EDK company, a leading producer of Ground Calcium Carbonates (GCC) in Brazil. These assets, which include 3 operating plants and 100 employees, generated annual revenues of BRL 65 million in 2018.

With this deal, Imerys, a global leader in Carbonates and long established in South America, broadens its footprint in the region and strengthen its product portfolio for the paints and coatings applications. The operation will increase Imerys revenue in Brazil to ca. €140 million.

This business has been consolidated in the Performance Minerals Americas business area since November 1st, 2019.
