VEGA C SUCCESSFULLY DEPLOYS KOMPSAT-7 IN ORBIT

Colleferro (Rome), 1 December 2025 – Vega C has successfully completed the VV28 flight, putting in orbit the KOMPSAT-7 (KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite-7) for the Korean Aerospace Research Institute (KARI). Vega C lifted off from the Guiana Space Centre in French Guiana at 02.21 PM Kourou time (06.21 PM Rome time). The rocket performed flawlessly. After two burns, the AVUM+ upper stage released the payload 44 minutes after liftoff in a Sun-Synchronous orbit at an altitude of 576 km.

KOMPSAT-7 weights about 1,810 kg. It is designed to support detailed observation of the Korean Peninsula and to meet the growing national demand for high-quality satellite imagery.

Giulio Ranzo, CEO of Avio commented: "I would like to thank our team and our partners for this successful Vega C launch. I would also like to thank the KARI for the trust they have placed in us. The rocket has demonstrated once again its versatility, being capable to put in orbit different kind of single or multiple payloads. We are now ready to take the full responsibility of Launch Service Operator for the Vega family launchers, starting with the next flight, VV29".
