On 22 December 2021, Eiffage and its subsidiary SECAA, operator of the Autoroute de l'Avenir, signed an amendment to the concession agreement with Senegal confirming the state's acquisition of a 25% stake, in accordance with their contractual commitments.
The amendment also adjusted the fee for the use of this public property, froze toll price thresholds until 31 December 2025, modified the profit sharing clauses, instructed the concession holder to make additional investments in order to maintain the current level of service and extended the length of the concession by five years to bring it to 2044.
The 42 km Autoroute de l'Avenir connects Dakar's city centre to Blaise Diagne International Airport.
Eiffage and Senegal signed the concession agreement on 2 July 2009. The first toll road section went into service on 28 October 2011, and the complete route has been operational since 25 October 2016.
150,000 vehicles used the Autoroute de l'Avenir on average every day in 2021.
